More Information
Fine Italian wines for export
Many of the fine wines are exported, so much so that Italian winemakers are now among the largest wine exporters in the world. The largest private Italian wineries are “Antinori”, “Zonin 1821” and “Frescobaldi”. In addition to the “big ones” in the industry, there are also smaller wineries, especially in Veneto, Piedmont, Lombardy and Tuscany as well as Sicily. Italian wines such as Barolo, Brunello and Chianti are among the most popular and best in the world today. When it comes to the amount of wine produced, Italy is just behind the leading wine nation France.
Italian wineries are part of Italian culture
Italian wineries and Italian wine are inextricably linked to Italian culture and have been since the 8th century BC. Wine was already being produced in Italy back then. After a temporary decline and a period in which wines from France were preferred, viticulture in Italy was revived in the 19th century in Piedmont and Tuscany. From here, Italian wine continued its triumph throughout the country.
