Wine & Soul - Exklusive Weine aus Portugals Douro Region

Portugal's most famous winemaker, Sandra Tavares da Silva, founded the company Wine & Soul together with her husband, the oenologist Jorge Serôdio Borges, in Portugal's famous Douro wine region - a region marked by tradition and great terroir.
One day they decided to create a wine together and purchased an old port wine warehouse in Vale de Mendiz for the purpose of this project. Wine & Soul was born and so was their joint wine Pintas, whose name was inspired by their restless pointer dog. Pintas is made from vines that are more than 80 years old and is a cuvée created from over 30 varieties. Pintas was also fermented in the press and aged for 20 months in French oak - a special wine with a lot of personality, with a vibrant fragrance, wonderful fruit and a long finish.

The two star oenologists consider themselves lucky to have such a special vineyard site with old vines and over 30 different grape varieties available for their wine compositions. This is something quite unique! Each block of grapes has its own personality, which is expressed in the wonderfully balanced, complex, concentrated and elegant wines.

Sandra Tavares da Silva is one of Portugal's most brilliant winemakers and is responsible for some of the best Portuguese wines awarded internationally.
Wine connoisseur and critic Robert Parker has always awarded her wines with a score of over 90 points and in 2009 she even received the highest score of 95 points in the "Portuguese Wine" category. Although she worked as a sought-after model in Paris, Milan, London and New York at the age of 16, she always knew that her life belonged to the vineyards.
Today she is mother of three and divides her time between Quinta de Chocapalha in Lisbon, Quinta do Vale D. Maria and Valle Mendiz, home of the successful project "Wine & Soul".
