The Foundry Grenache Noir flows from youthful deep ruby red into the glass and exudes clearly delineated aromas of fleshy floral fruits as well as wonderfully complementing hints of black pepper and fine spices. On the palate, this highly endowed drop presents itself of medium body, with intense nuances of crushed black fruits, a peppery spiciness and with delicately powdery tannin structure. In the finish long-lasting, supple and immensely delicious.

The hand-picked grapes were cooled overnight and then partially destemmed and crushed - only some berries remained as whole bunch (approx.15%). Fermentation took place in concrete tanks, with the first half of fermentation occurring spontaneously. The second half of fermentation took place with the addition of a neutral Rhône yeast. Once fermentation was complete, only 40% of the wine was aged in French oak barrels, with the other 60% remaining in concrete where it completed malolactic fermentation. After eight months of aging in barrique and concrete, the two components were blended and finally aged as a cuvée for another five months in neutral concrete tanks to form a harmonious whole. Before bottling, the wine was neither refined nor filtered.
