Sorgrape Vinhos was founded by a group of friends who, in 1942, in the difficult economic situation, decided to leave the responsibility to a man with vision, strength and innovative ideas: Fernando van Zeller Guedes. The unprecedented foresight of the Sogrape founder led to the triumphant success of the first great Portuguese wine brand known worldwide: Mateus Rosé, now sold in 120 countries. Today, still in the third generation, the aim is to produce typical Portuguese wines, wines that combine tradition and modernity and to create quality wines for the world market. Much has changed since those pioneering days and Sogrape Vinhos has grown to bring together a variety of wineries in the best areas of Portugal. Big brands like Sandmann and Matteus Rosé, prestige wineries like Porto Ferreira and Offley.
