Quinta de Gomariz is one of the absolute leaders of the Portuguese Vinho Verde region! This Quinta made it from 0 to 100 with its first vintage in 2005 as a new producer! A small sensation - even as a newcomer, the Quinta has been showered with countless prestigious prizes and awards at international level. And this success continues.
Quinta de Gomariz is located in the Vinho Verde region between the rivers Douro and Minho in the north of Portugal and benefits from the cool Atlantic climate of this area and the warmer and more Mediterranean summers in the interior. These different climates allow Quinta de Gomariz to produce wonderfully clear and fresh white wines, as well as robust, luscious red wines with the DOC Vinho Verde and DOC Vinho Regional Minho controlled designations of origin.
In addition to the Alvarinho and Loureiro grape varieties, which are better known and more common in the region, Quinta de Gomariz also produces first-class white wines from the Arinto, Avesso and Azal varieties, as well as enchanting rosés from the Espadeiro and Padeiro varieties and powerful red wines from the Vinhão grape. The 17 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the Vinho Verde region are cultivated with great know-how by the young and dedicated winemaker António Sousa, who is responsible in a consultative capacity on numerous quintas in the area.
