Quinta de Chocapalha - Exklusives Weingut in der Estremadura, Portugal

Quinta de Chocapalha
Quinta de Chocapalha

Quinta de Chocapalha is located in the surroundings of Aldeia Galega and extends over the sunny hills of Alenquer, a demarcated region in the northwest of Lisbon. The historic and excellent vineyards have existed since the 16th century.
Alice and Paulo Tavares da Silva bought the estate in 1980 and invested heavily in the 45-hectare vineyards. The introduction of new cultivation methods allowed the family to consolidate the quality and reputation of their wines.
Their daughter, Sandra Tavares da Silva, is responsible for the wine production on Quinta de Chocapalha. She is one of Portugal's most brilliant winemakers and responsible for some of the best Portuguese wines awarded internationally!
Wine connoisseur and critic Robert Parker has always awarded her wines with a score of over 90 points and in 2009 she even received the highest score of 95 points in the "Portuguese Wine" category. Although she was already in demand as a model at the age of 16 in Paris, Milan, London and New York, she always knew that her life belonged to the vineyards.
Today she is a mother of three and divides her time between Quinta de Chocapalha in Lisbon, Quinta do Vale D. Maria and Valle Mendiz, home of the "Wine & Soul" company that she runs together with her husband.
Lisbon is a great wine region, with fantastic potential. The wines show wonderful fruit, elegance and freshness, coupled with excellent ageing potential.
With a portfolio consisting of Chocapalha's award-winning reserve series "Chocapalha Red" and "Chocapalha White", the "Quinta de Chocapalha Red", the pure Cabernet Sauvignon "Chocapalha Red CS" and the "Vinha da Palha", the winery has established itself as an institution for first-class Portuguese wine.
