Oldenburg Vineyards - Hochdotiertes Weingut in Stellenbosch, Südafrika

Oldenburg Vineyards produces limited quantities of first-class handmade red and white wines from typical Bordeaux and Rhône varieties. The award-winning winery's premium portfolio includes Oldenburg Chenin Blanc, Oldenburg Chardonnay and Oldenburg Merlot as well as a Syrah, a Cabernet Franc and a Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2013, the first vintage of the winery's flagship Oldenburg Rhodium Red Blend, a red cuvée in the Bordeaux style, was released.
The wine production takes place 10 km from the farm on the Glenelly Estate. Glenelly was bought by Madame May de Lencquesaing, who previously owned Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in France.
Winemaker, Philip Costandius, brings a lot of experience with him. His top priority is to keep human intervention in the natural vinification process as low as possible. The basic principle for him here is that the grape leads the way and can thus produce wines with wonderfully balanced tannins, complexity, a natural acidity and elegant fruit notes.
World famous neighbours of Oldenburg Vineyards are Thelema, Tokara, Delaire, Bartinney, Camberley and Rainbows End. Oldenburg Vineyards covers an area of approximately 30 hectares, with Rondekop Hill at its heart.
