Chris and Andrea Mullineux are at the same time owners, cellar masters, oenologists and winemakers at Mullineux Family Wines, with great dedication the young dynamic couple lives their dream of owning their own winery. In addition to his degree in Oenology, Chris Mullineux has invaluable experience, including positions and vintages at South African wineries such as Tulbagh, de Trafford and Rustenberg, as well as vintages at top French wineries in Côte Rôtie, Bandol, Languedoc, Roussillon and California. Over the years, his love for the Swartland region, its people, wineries and wines has become more and more apparent and so today Chris looks forward to many more years and many creative and passionate vintages with Mullineux Wines in the Swartland. Andrea Mullineux grew up in San Francisco where she graduated in Oenology and after several vintages in California's Napa Valley spent some time in Stellenbosch and Chateauneuf. She met Chris at a wine festival in Champagne and her love of South African wine (and of course Chris) led her back to South Africa.
Mullineux's aim is to create wines that reflect an authentic expression of the wild Swartland. Absolute attention to detail is paramount at every stage of production. Mullineux is committed to a natural and minimalist approach, both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
