Gabrielskloof - Hochdotiertes Weingut in Südafrikas Bot River Region
The Gabrielskloof Winery is located in South Africa's Bot River (also known as the Botrivier) wine region, where under the direction of master winemaker Peter-Allan Finlayson and oenologist Christiaan van der Merwe, highly endowed and terroir-specific wines of the highest quality are produced. These are offered in the Landscape Series, Reserve Range and Premium Range and include award-winning wines such as Gabrielskloof Elodie, which includes white cuvée Magdalena and Gabrielskloof The Blend, a refined and elegantly smooth Bordeaux-style wine
Botrivier is a small village, with only 10,000 inhabitants, located in the Overberg region of the Western Cape in South Africa, about 90 km from Cape Town. In this wine region, wine lovers will find highly endowed wines, which are produced from the oldest vines of the region as well as from new and innovative grape varieties. Whether as a historically traditional winery or as an ultra-modern boutique winery, the common denominator in Bot River is always clear - handmade wines of absolute top quality.
Gabrielskloof is the fulfillment of a long-standing dream. For years, owner Bernhard Heyns has been searching for a unique and perfect place for his longed-for winery. When local farmer Barry Anderson heard about Bernhard's search for land, he arranged a meeting. It was on this windy summer afternoon in 2001 that they both immediately recognized the immense potential of what was then a patch of land planted with wheat and canola, and shortly afterwards Bernhard acquired what is now known as Gabrielskloof.
Gabrielskloof's vision is to produce wines of lush complexity, richness and diversity - wines that wonderfully express the complex and diverse terroir in the glass. Prizes and awards at both domestic and international level bear witness to Gabrielskloof's top quality. However, Gabrielskloof's expertise and know-how is not limited to wine. Gabrielskloof Extra Virgin Olive Oil has been awarded Gold at the SA OLIVE Awards every year since its first bottle in 2010 and was ranked among South Africa's top five olive oils in 2013 and 2016. Cold-pressed, this highly acclaimed olive oil, which is made from the Italian olive varieties Leccino, Coratina and Frantoio, presents itself in a well-balanced and intense style. An olive oil of first-class quality from South Africa's Bot River region.
