Eagles' Nest - Premium Weingut in Constantia, Südafrika

The unique terroir combined with passionate attention to detail in the vineyards produces grapes of the highest quality, which in turn produce wines of exceptional elegance, finesse and complexity. The highly endowed portfolio of winemaker Stuart Botha includes the Eagles' Nest Merlot and the Eagles' Nest Shiraz, as well as a varietal Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc under the Constantia and Western Cape Denomination of Origin.

The Eagles' Nest winery is located in a protected and secluded valley high up on the slopes of the historic Constantia mountain range, which is part of the Table Mountain World Heritage Site. Less than 15 km from False Bay, the vineyards here thrive at an altitude of between 140 and 406 m above sea level. The historical origins of the farm can be traced back to 1836 when it was used as a food station for travelers.

In 1984, the Mylrea family bought the 38 ha estate. After devastating fires in the summer of 2000, the property was almost completely destroyed. Fortunately, the historic buildings were not damaged in the fire. As part of the world-famous Constantia Valley, which is known for its award-winning and highly remunerated wines, it was decided, after the fires, to plant the unique terroir of Eagles' Nest with the most suitable grape varieties for this area. Success came soon thereafter, and the quality of the highly endowed wines from Eagles' Nest speaks for itself.
