As a long-cherished dream and passion of one of the global talents and most distinguished oenologists, Luís Duarte, of the DIVAI winery in the Portuguese Alentejo wine region, which today enjoys a bit of reputation in the international wine world with its own wine portfolio. The name DIVAI means "wine" in the Swahili language and symbolizes the "divine" in the relationship between man and nature. The Alentejo wine region is one of the largest wine-growing regions in Portugal and includes around a third of the total land mass. The area is southwest of the Serra de São Mamede, with the personal border in the east and the Algarve in the south. The region is flat flat, with picturesque rolling hills and wide relationships closed with vineyards, olive groves and cork trees. From the same grape varieties of the region, which i.a. He was one of the first students to get the degree in oenology from the UTAD Law - the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. With an advantageous résumé, Luís Duarte was evaluated by the Portuguese wine magazine as “Winemaker of the Year” (1997 and 2007) and nominated as “Best Winemaker in the World” at the Prowein Awards 2010 of the wine magazine 'Der Feinschmecker'.
Duarte has established himself as one of the most respected wine consultants in the Alentejo, helping with successful business and wine projects. These projects include "Quinta da Malhadinha" and "Quinta do Mouro" as well as the ex-libris wines in the Alentejo called "Marias Malhadinha" and "Quinta do Mouro Gold Label". He used his well-known pragmatic and passionate style as well as his outstanding expertise to produce his own wines - DIVAI has outgrown his creativity and inspires wine lovers, connoisseurs and critics on a worldwide level.
