Casa Santa Eulália - Prämiertes Vinho Verde Weingut in Portugal
Casa Santa Eulália is a family-run winery founded in the 17th century and located in Atei, Mondim de Basto, in the heart of Portugal's famous Vinho Verde region. It is here, under the oenological direction of Anselmo Mendes and Francisco Marques Leandro, that the estate's highly endowed and award-winning portfolio of traditional Vinho Verde wines from the classic grape varieties Loureiro, Arinto, Alvarinho, Azal Branco and Trajadura is created.
The passion for the production of high quality and authentic wines has been passed down through generations and the estate has proudly maintained its distinctive charm, fertile granite soils and excellent terroir to this day. The family-run winery adheres to its philosophy of preserving old traditions and combining them with ultra-modern cultivation and winemaking methods.
The cellar was designed by the architect Arnaldo Pimentel Barbaosa and is located in the main 17th-century house where the family has resided for several generations. Equipped with the latest technology, all facets of the excellent grape quality in Casa Santa Eulália's wines are fully expressed here. Even though they have access to the latest technology, the local and time-honored traditions of the region are still being upheld here, the grapes for Vinho Verde Tinto are crushed with bare leg strength, just as they were originally, in huge wooden troughs called lagares.
Tradition and modernity in perfect harmony - wines of unmistakable character and prestigious class!
