Casa José Repolho - Preisgekröntes Weingut in Lissabon, Südafrika

The Casa José Repolho winery, founded in 1973 by José Repolho, is located in the heart of Portugal, in the small village of Reguengo do Fétal (Batalha), about 120 km from Lisbon and 180 km from Porto. Under the oenological expertise of winemaker Hernani Magalhães and under the direction of director Jose Repolho and Ricardo Repolho, it produces award-winning wines among the Summer Lovers and Dom Martin ranges, as well as the two reserve wines "Burro Velho" and "Valleral Grande Escolha Tinto".

The medium-sized family winery boasts over 40 years of tradition in the production of award-winning wines in the demarcated wine regions of Lisbon and Tejo (Ribatejo), an area widely known for its small and traditional vineyards with exceptional growing conditions. The favourable growing conditions are due in particular to the immediate proximity of the Atlantic Ocean - a microclimate of a special kind.

Hernani Magalhães has been an oenologist at Casa José Repolho since 2010 and has had a remarkable career as a winemaker. What began as a childhood dream was consolidated with his degree in oenology at the University of "Tras-os- Montes and Alto Douro" and further academic theses and studies in the field of Portuguese grape varieties in wine production.

Casa José Repolho is passionate about Portuguese traditions and all the wines here tell their own story. The authentically created cuvées of the winery are made from indigenous grape varieties such as Aragonez, Arinto, Fernão Pires, Castelão and Touriga Nacional, among others, and some of them are blended with international grapes such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio - wines with a distinct character of origin and fine harmony!
