The Ashbourne Winery is located in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, South Africa, on the eastern border of Hamilton Russell Vineyards. Since its foundation in 1996, the Ashbourne Winery has specialised, with great success, in the cultivation and development of Pinotage and Sauvignon Blanc. Under the direction of owner Anthony Hamilton Russell and oenologist Emul Ross, their innovative and highly individual wine portfolio is created here, which includes highly endowed and award-winning cuvées such as the Ashbourne Sauvignon Blanc Chardonnay and the Ashbourne Pinotage Cinsault.

The breathtakingly beautiful 64 ha estate was named in memory of Anthony Hamilton Russell's great-great-grandfather, Lord Ashbourne, who was Minister of Justice of Ireland at the end of the 18th century.

Ashbourne began with the vision of creating a very special Pinotage of great finesse and noble elegance on the ancient and unusually clayey slate soils. Following the release of the winery's first vintage in 2001, the Ashbourne team continues to produce exceptional and classic wines with true South African personality - wines that undoubtedly boast world-class quality and elegance! The low grape harvest yields of the estate and the intense demand worldwide make for a highly limited and sought after product!
