Under the management of Agostinho Amável Costa, the third generation of the Amável Costa winery (located in Portugal's Douro region) has been producing a highly endowed and award-winning portfolio of the finest port wines, such as the Amável Costa Port Tawny, the Amável Costa White Port, Old Tawnies, as well as the Amável Costa Reserve Port, from the region's typical and traditional grape varieties since the middle of the 19th century. The winery's two wineries, Veiga Grande and Quinta do Paraíso, are located in the picturesque Douro countryside and produce the winery's top-quality grapes, with varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca for the red ports and Malvasia Fina, Malvasia Rei, Rabo de Ovelha and Gouveio for the white ports. Located in the town of Cedovim, in the district of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, the winery produces and stores its port wines in centuries-old oak barrels, which transfer aromas and nuances of taste to the wine, taking you on an unforgettable journey into an age of ancient customs and traditions.
