Weingut Alvi's Drift Private Cellar - preisgekrönte Weine aus Worcester, Südafrika
The family winery Alvi's Drift is located 20 km south of Worcester in the Western Cape region of South Africa.
The winery is named after the crossing on the Breede River on the farm in the form of a low water bridge built by Albertus Viljoen (Alvi) in 1928 to provide access to the farm - this crossing became locally known as Alvi's Drift. Initially modest, the estate and cellar were considerably extended and redesigned by Alvis' son Bertie. The estate's 410 ha of vineyards produce top quality grapes, with Chenin Blanc and Pinotage being the speciality here.
The experienced team of winemakers, consisting of Alvi van der Merwe, Henk Swart and Linley Schultz, produce first class wines here.
